This program runs on weekends and some weekdays. It focuses on intermediate sailing skills to advanced racing techniques using club-owned boats (note: Optimist sailors are encouraged to bring their own boat).

Descrip: SUNY Maritime College Waterfront, 6 Pennyfield Avenue, Bronx, NY
– After School Adventure Sailing: Enjoy recreation and instruction aboard a variety of boats, including dinghies, catamarans, and keelboats. Open for 6th-8th grade beginner, intermediate, and advanced sailors. Also for 9th-12th grade sailors of all abilities who are not interested in racing.
Mondays (4 pm – 6:30 pm)  Sept. 9 – Oct. 28
– High School Sailing: Learn to sail, race and gain the skills to compete at local, regional or even national level regattas. SUNY Maritime College provides everything needed to participate including sailboats (420s, FJs and Keelboats), coaches, safety boats, and life jackets. Sailors from multiple schools will be combined based on skill level, have an opportunity to sail with different partners, and may attend regattas as part of a composite team. Name: Black Rock Advanced Sailing Squad (BRASS)

Descrip: Located at Sail Black Rock, Captains Cove Seaport, 1 Bostwick Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605
– BRASS is a composite high school sailing team that is open to any Fairfield County sailor who wants to continue to sail competitively throughout the school year, but doesn’t have a sailing team at their own school. BRASS has been running for three semesters with motivated sailors from Weston, Fairfield Warde, Fairfield Prep, Lauralton Hall, Trumbull, Wilton, and other high schools. BRASS practices in Club 420s several days a week out of Captain’s Cove Seaport in Black Rock CT. Coaches have included regional college coaches with the latest technical training advancements.
