On August 6–7, 2025, Riverside Yacht Club welcomed competitors in the ILCA and Club 420 classes, along with participants sailing for the JSA Girls’ Championship awards. The regatta brought together top qualifiers from JSA programs around Long Island Sound, competing for championship honors in an atmosphere that blended high-level competition with camaraderie among peers.
Sailing took place in the waters south of Greenwich, Connecticut, with race courses strategically positioned near Tod’s Point to accommodate the range of fleets. The regatta featured two dedicated courses—one for the Club 420s and another for the ILCA 4, 6, and 7 rigs.
Race days were blessed with ideal summer sailing conditions. Under sunny skies and steady breezes, the race committee successfully completed 12 races for each fleet over two days. Tuesday’s harbor start commenced at 10:00 a.m., with racing extending until 3:30 p.m. for the Club 420s and past 4:30 p.m. for the ILCA fleet. On Wednesday, competitors were able to launch at 9:30 a.m., allowing for another full day of competition.
The Girls’ Championship was an awards division contested within the broader event, with 12 Club 420 teams, seven ILCA 4 sailors, 12 ILCA 6 sailors, and two ILCA 7 sailors participating.
Riverside Yacht Club complemented the intense on-the-water action with a welcoming social atmosphere—Day 1 featured a post-racing dinner, raffle, and pool party, while Day 2 concluded with snacks and an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding achievement across the fleets.
