Announcing Awardees at JSA of LIS Annual General Meeting Oct 20, 2025

The JSA of LIS is pleased to announce the following awards that will be presented at the start of its Annual General Meeting on October 20 at the Larchmont Yacht Club, Larchmont NY.  We invite each awardee listed to attend the welcome and awards presentation from 7:00 – 7:45 PM. And we encourage members of the JSA LIS community to join us at the awards ceremony to celebrate these achievements.

Following the awards, JSA junior program leaders are invited to participate in the Annual Meeting that is expected to start by 8 pm with the election of JSA’s officers and directors, followed by open discussion to share experiences and network.

 

The award categories include special recognition for people and programs that are strong role models, 2025 season series performance in each boat class and junior big boat regattas, and performance at the coastal navigation contest.

 

Special Recognition Awards:

Mary von Conta award for exemplary contribution toward improving the quality and safety in the training or instruction of sailors
Milford Yacht Club

Excellence or Variety of Season Programming (new award)

Brook E. Gonzalez award, for a young woman dedicated to the sport of sailing, with outstanding sailing achievements
Grace Sinclair

Susie Trotman award, for outstanding sailing instruction
