Midwinter Meeting 2026
The JSA of LIS Midwinter Meeting was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Beach Point Club, Mamaroneck NY.
Program representatives were all welcome, including Officers, Junior Program Representatives, Chairs, Sailing Committees, Parent Volunteers, Program/Sailing Directors, and Head Instructors. 45 people attended the meeting, with 16 of those staying for a networking lunch.

The meeting agenda included these topics:
- Rethinking Youth Racing with Green Fleets for Retention and Development to strengthen your sailing program: Maxwell Plarr, waterfront director at Hampton Yacht Club, Virginia.
- How hosting a High School Sailing Team at your sailing program can bring benefits to your sailors: Rob Hurd, president of the Interscholastic Sailing Association and Director of Sailing Operations at Cape Cod Academy; and Chris Foley, sailing director at Indian Harbor Yacht Club and varsity coach for the Greenwich Academy and Brunswick School teams.
- Adventure Sailing Programming and Structure: Chip Kreuzkamp, sailing coach from Larchmont Yacht Club, and TJ Danilek, assistant sailing director at American Yacht Club, will discuss their approaches to Adventure Sailing.
The meeting also shared the 2026 JSA of LIS Regatta schedule and other JSA business.
A copy of the US Sailing resource book Sailing Drills Made Easy was distributed free to each JSA of LIS member junior sailing program that had a representative at the meeting (and was shipped later to other programs).
