View at a prior Head Instructor Workshop

The JSA Head Instructor Workshop held at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club on Thursday June 5 continued the in-person format to enhance the exchange of ideas. Head instructors and other program leaders, such as directors and senior staff, were invited to attend this workshop designed specifically for them.

Program chairs were also welcome, along with those on the path to becoming a head instructor or program director. We focused on getting both returning head instructors and new head instructors up to speed.

Experts at the workshop included Alec Basilion, Director of Sailing and Waterfront at Noroton Yacht Club; Kevin Broome, Sailing Director at American Yacht Club; George Ellis, Executive Director at The WaterFront Center; Chris Foley, Sailing Director at Indian Harbor Yacht Club; Paul Lukas, Director of Exploring, Sea Scouts and Venturing Programs at Scouting America Connecticut Yankee Council; J. Sood, Indian Harbor Y. C. Representative, Sea Scout Ship 1, and Tricia Leicht, currently with Save the Sound, and a past chairperson of the JSA LIS and of the Larchmont YC junior sailing program.
