Event Management Workshop

The 2026 JSA of LIS Event Management Workshop was held virtually on April 22. The resources from this workshop, including video / audio recordings and documents may be accessed through this link.

Regatta support teams at JSA clubs hosting regattas in 2026 were invited to learn about new topics and share information. The detailed agenda, containing links to some of the meeting’s topic resources, may be viewed at this link.

• This year’s workshop provided guidance about overcoming common problems with regatta setup and scoring, presented by Kate Lenhard from Clubspot.
• Recommendations for hosting Optimist Green Fleet and Fun Fleet racing, were provided by race managers whose clubs have hosted Green Fleets for the past decade, including Erik Storck from Centerport YC; Bruce Scull & Peter Cozzolino from Milford YC; and George Catallo from Port Washington YC.
• The workshop also featured a discussion about  about safety management at regattas, led by experienced safety officer Tom Young from American YC, with Fred Elliott from Noroton YC.

Regatta chairs, race officers, regatta committee members/volunteers, sailing and program directors were all welcome to preregister for the virtual meeting.
