JSA LIS All Instructor Symposium 2025

The JSA of LIS All Instructor Symposium will be held Saturday, June 21, 8:30-3:00 pm at SUNY Maritime College’s conference center (the photo shows a recent Storm Trysail Club safety at sea event at that venue).

All instructors, head instructors, sailing and program directors will benefit from attending this symposium, which can facilitate networking among instructors at all JSA programs and help them share a collective understanding of how effective sailing programs can be run.

Please register your group between now and Tuesday June 17, so JSA may provide an accurate count to the caterer for this event that typically has about 150 people attending (registrations after June 17 will be welcome subject to available seats).

Featured Presenters: some of the experts who will be sharing their knowledge on June 21 include Alec Basilion, Director of Sailing and Waterfront at Noroton YC; Rob Crafa, Waterfront Director at SUNY Maritime; Chris Foley, Sailing Director at Indian Harbor YC; Naadira Gafar, Head Instructor at City Island YC; Jen Guimaraes, One-Design Director at Tahe Outdoors; Beckett Kumler, RS Sailing Class Administrator at Zim Sailing; Reed Maltbie, Principal at Beyond the Game Partners; Henry Millette, Head Dinghy Coach at USMMA Kings Point; Julia Morash, Head Sailing Instructor at Beach Point Club; Blair Overman, Program Development Expert; Doug Reynolds, Sailing Director at Larchmont YC; Maddy Saffer, Lead Sailing Instructor at Larchmont YC; Madison Shields, Director of Junior Sailing at Port Washington YC; TJ Stoker, Assistant Sailing Director at Riverside YC; Joe Sullivan, Assistant Waterfront Director at SUNY Maritime; and Jeanne Walker Sinclair, Director of Sailing Programs at Rincon Sailing.

A program chair or non-instructor leader from each JSA member program is welcome to attend for free as an observer with their staff. Program leaders may preregister their group at this link. Morning bagels/coffee/tea and lunch are included in the $40 pp advance paid fee for participants from JSA member sailing programs ($45 pp for participants from non-JSA member sailing programs).
