The JSA of LIS started to collect information in late 2017 from our member programs about their existing safety training and operational practices, and what enhancements were planned for 2018.

Now that preparations are underway for the 2019 summer programs, the JSA is continuing to collect updated information about best safety practices, which will be shared with our member programs at the Annual Meeting on October 24, 2018.

To update the review, please consider about the questions below, then email your reply to the JSA office:
– What is your program’s experience with propeller guards? If they are currently installed, provide details about the satisfaction with the installation, the manufacturer/model number of the guards, and types of outboard motors and boats on which installed.
– What other actions did your program take to review or improve safety during this summer?
– What type of certification or training does your program require or provide for its sailing instructors who operate powerboats?
