Age Requirements
Competitors shall not reach their sixteenth (16th) birthday in the current calendar year.

Age Groupings
Competitors shall be divided into three groups according to their ages on the first day of the scheduled competition, as shown above.

What do you need to safely sail your Optimist?
The JSA has a list of items necessary for Optimists to fulfill in order to race at regattas. Even if you do not race, your boat should comply with the JSA’s Optimist Safety Inspection Checklist.
