COORDINATION OF INTER-PROGRAM REGATTAS

Each summer, the JSA of LIS schedules, promotes, and monitors training clinics, regattas, contests, and meets that are hosted by the JSA member programs, including qualifiers and championships for each boat class, and the season series awards based on those events. These events may be viewed on the monthly calendar or in a list format.

The JSA provides an online membership roster system that is integrated with the regatta management and scoring system on TheClubspot.com.

The JSA determines eligibility criteria, regatta conduct standards, safety practices, and sailboat classes to be raced. These classes currently include: Optimist, RS Feva, Club 420, ILCA (Laser) all rigs, and O’pen Skiff.

The JSA awards annual prizes for the boat class championships, season series, and special-events.

The JSA encourages joint events and special-instruction pooling by small groups of neighboring programs.
