Under the guidance of our new Program Director and renowned coach Tino Galan, we seek a racing-oriented instructor who has a willingness to learn. Instructors work with a team of ten US Sailing certified instructors. Founded in 1887, CPYC is located on Long Island Sound in Westport, CT. We are a club made up of volunteers committed to the sport of sailing. The mission of CPYC’s Junior Sailing Program is to introduce Jr. Sailors to the joy of sailing and the thrill of sailboat racing. All classes focus on basic boat handling, seamanship, and sportsmanship, while building racing performance and tactical skills. |Sailing Instructors||Larchmont Shore Club, Larchmont NY||The Larchmont Shore Club is seeking Sailing Instructors who are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals who enjoy teaching the sport of sailing to participants of all ages and experience levels. |Sailing Instructor / Coach||Black Rock Yacht Club, Black Rock CT||Black Rock YC is seeking one additional sailing instructor/coach for the 2021 summer season. Our goal is for our children to truly have fun when sailing and thus develop a life-long love of sailing and life-long friendships. We offer both high quality racing instruction and also offer a fun “adventure” track. BRYC also offers tennis, swimming and diving for juniors (so not everyone is focused on sailboat racing). The mission of our Program is to provide a safe, fun, educational and COVID compliant environment for juniors to grow to appreciate the Long Island Sound. Instructors will lead waterfront fun in kayaks, catamarans, paddle boards and Optis. Harbor tours in the club’s power boats, fishing, snorkeling and excursions in bigger boats is part of the experience. While this is not a traditional sailing program, children wishing to sail recreationally or competitively will have the option. The sailors will range from 7 to 15 years of age. |

Tokeneke offers an intensive 6-week program from late June through early August, comprised of on-the-water training with a fleet of Optimists and Pixels, in conjunction with on-land “chalk talk” instruction. Successful candidates should have a genuine passion for sailing and instruction, inclusive of extensive experience working with junior sailors of all ages and skill levels. Furthermore, candidates should possess the ability to plan, direct, execute and oversee all pre and in season programming, with a focus on teaching participants seamanship, sailing theory, and safe boat handling, in a fun, safe, and educational environment. Ideal candidates will also be adroit communicators, adept problem solvers, and proactive leaders with the ability to engage and inspire young sailors through enthusiastic and innovative instructional techniques and lesson planning. The Head Instructor position requires candidates to possess the following certifications prior to the start of the season: a minimum of US Sailing Level 1 Small Boat Instructor Certification (Level 2 certification preferred), Safe Powerboat Handling, CPR, First Aid, and Safe Boating certificate valid in CT.
