Sailing Instructors – Opti, Laser and C420

The Shore and Country Club has positions open for Instructors in our Junior Sailing Program for the 2015 summer season. Our program consists of approximately 60 sailors in Opti, Laser & C420, with 4 instructors and 6 junior-level instructors.  We offer instruction for sailors from eight years of age through high school and an Adult Learn to Sail Program. The mission of our sailing program is to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for individuals to learn to sail; and to develop the skills of already proficient sailors in both recreational and competitive sailing. Instructors will help teach on our Opti, Laser and C420 programs as well as conduct private lessons when requested.  Travel to and attending regattas, as well as participation in all club activities (children’s events, club social events), is also required. The ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, self motivated and demonstrate a passion for sailing.  The ability to create an enjoyable environment for student sailors is essential.  Maintaining a positive attitude day in and day out to help encourage and develop the sailors in our program is mandatory.  All candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a junior sailing program (may be as a junior-level instructor) and US Sailing Level 1 certificate/or higher, as well as an up to date First Aid/CPR certification prior to the season’s start. Salary depends on experience.  Lunch is provided daily.
Dates of Employment: mid-June to mid-August 2015, M- F, 8 to 5, however will be required to attend some weekends and after-hour events as required.
