Experienced Junior Sailing Instructor

Orienta Beach Club (OBC) is looking for a junior sailing instructor with at least 2 years experience who may become our head instructor in the following year. Founded in 1924, OBC offers a distinct mix of both racing and recreational sailing to approximately 40 junior sailors ages 9-16 years old. The mission of the sailing program is to provide a safe, fun and supportive environment for children to learn to sail; and to develop the skills of already proficient sailors in both recreational and competitive sailing. The program includes instruction in sailing Optimists, Pixels, Lasers and C420s. The candidate should be comfortable working with a team of instructors and coaches where the goal is to build interest in sailing as a life-long sport; as a participant in regattas and/or recreational sailing. Key responsibilities include: safety management, coordination with club staff regarding boat fleet, and regatta entries. Candidates should have US Sailing Certification Level 1 (or preferably Level 2), with current CPR and First Aid. The US Sailing Safe Powerboat Handling certificate is very desirable. Candidates should have at least 2 years sailing instruction experience, experience in a leadership role, attention to detail and love working with children. Competitive salary, based on experience
