The Norwalk Yacht Club is now accepting applications for all coaching levels for our Optimist, Pixel, Laser, C420 fleets and our Big Boat program. Norwalk Jr. Sailing is seeking to continue its success on and off the race course by adding to its already talented staff.  NYC has a new club house and expanded waterfront for the 2015 season.  Instructors will coach 8-17 year olds in an eight week program on the fundamentals of sailing and racing.  Instructors will report to the Junior Sailing Program Director and maintain a safe, competitive and fun environment for the sailors.  Ideal candidates must be able to motivate sailors to perform at their best, customize lesson plans to suit individual needs, effectively coach sailors and properly represent Norwalk Yacht Club while at JSALIS regattas, and schedule daily activities (drills, practice, games, free time/ rainy days).   Applicants must have minimum of US Sailing Small Boat Level 1 Instructor, Safe Powerboat Handling, CPR and First Aid certification.  All candidates must be at least 18 years of age by mid-June 2015.  High School, Collegiate and Big Boat racing experience are a big plus.
