Winter College Sailing Forum January 20

SUNY Maritime Sailing and the JSA of LIS will be co-hosting a free college sailing forum on Friday, January 20 at 7 – 9 p.m. in Larchmont, N.Y.

The response has overwhelmed the capacity of the original site at Larchmont YC, so we have moved 1/2 mile to the Larchmont Village Center,  which is located at the rear of the Larchmont Public Library at 121 Larchmont Avenue. Park in the street, walk down the path on the right side of the Library to the Village Center entry at the right-rear corner of the building.

Maritime Sailing has arranged for a great group of coaches and alumni to come and give some information and insight about their specific programs. This is a wonderful opportunity for sailors and parents to learn more about college sailing, and meet some of the top coaches / players in the country.  Colleges participating at the forum include SUNY Maritime, US Merchant Marine, Washington College, Hobart/William Smith, Dartmouth, Connecticut, Bowdoin, College of Charleston, Christopher Newport, Roger Williams, Sacred Heart, Cornell, George Washington and Boston universities.

The topics to be discussed include boats, practices & regattas, admissions, club vs. varsity, visiting schools, time management, and how to contact coaches. A questions and answers segment will follow for all coaches and attendees at the event.

For questions please contact Maritime Head Sailing Coach Zach Runci at zrunci@sunymaritime.edu

Interested participants may view this flyer and also fill out the registration form  prior to their arrival on January 20 for an accurate headcount.
